"DPIT R1" was first released with a very short feature set and has been created "out of interest". It was aiming at tree creation only and had been the first serious plugin available for Cinema 4D in this category. It contained only one object, the DPInstantTree object.
DP stands for Dream Pack which was the initial code name of the plugin.
Katachi unleashes V2 of DPIT. A student license is offered for the first time and the plugin has been rewritten from scratch. It now takes a hierarchical modular approach for tree generation and new objects have been introduced to simulate deformations, distribute and duplicate trees more easily. In V2.1 the well-known hair department algorithm has been introduced to DPIT in a highly advanced version extending DPITs feature set to create grass, fibers and similar.
Pruning, simple terrain generation and the most advanced noise deformer for c4d have been added in late 2004 to V2.5 of DPIT. This is also the release version where DPIT was renamed to DPIT Nature Spirit.
DPIT Nature Spirit R3 introduces real instances, node-based terrain heightmaps with MountMonkey, the Extruder object and enormous improvements in the DPInstantTree object. Another point upgrade to 3.1 adds more stability in 2006.
A new era has begun for DPIT Nature Spirit with V4.0. The very first Fluids engine has been introduced to Cinema 4D offering smoke and fire effects at a highly professional level. A particle system has been added to allow the simulation of micro organisms and landscape architects receive a physical engine to create skies & atmospheres.
To complete this amazing improvement list, it also includes a semi-professional hair modeling system. Internally a lot of changes have been made to support future versions of DPIT Nature Spirit.
DPIT Nature Spirit is split into three different modules: DPIT Plants, DPIT Enviro and DPIT EFFEX. This allows customers to choose which parts of DPIT Nature Spirit they want to use. Furthermore this allows to maintain specific areas faster and conclusively faster updates can be provided.
DPIT Plants includes a new tree modeling engine which is the most advanced tree generator on the market to date, showing again that DPIT Nature Spirit leads the market in this area.
The second module DPIT Effex was released. This included a highly improved fluid simulation engine for Cinema 4D. It was able to simulate gaseous media such as smoke, fire and explosions in a physical manner. Again Katachi provided the Cinema 4D community with a state-of-the-art technology that only the "big boys" had.
DPIT Effex 1.5 was released and included the very first (one of Katachi's favorite words apparently) liquid simulator for Cinema 4D on a highly professional level with a high degree of artistic control.
Katachi became NAVIÉ. A new way of thinking, a new identity, reinforcement for the team and DPIT Effex 2.0 was released. The whole code has been rewritten and now takes a modular framework approach. New exiting times are about to come.
